The company, which specialises in providing a superior and unique quality of beats and sounds, alongside entertainment activities and other dynamic themed-programmes for artists and companies around the world, has been asked by the newly elected President and First Lady to bring music, entertainment and global coverage to the capital (Freetown) this December.


The event will be covered by a number of broadcasters including MTV Base Africa, Africa Channel and 601tv and will include a star-studded fashion show (featuring clothes by Samata's Muse and other designers) and entertainment by a breath-taking dance troupe. Performers include UN Ambassador for Malaria Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Lungi, Angie Brown and SWAY alongside headline acts from the US.

The awards ceremony is the only international celebration of Black achievement in Film and TV in Europe. The best of black British acting talent was recognised at the Screen Nation Film and TV awards, as Naomie Harris and David Harewood won awards for their roles in smash-hit Hollywood blockbusters. The likes of Bond actor Bond actor Colin Salmon, Claire-Hope Ashitey, Simon Webbe, John Barnes, AsherD and more were all in attendance at the star-studded event.

Designer Samata Angel chosen as runner-up for the Aristoc Ultra Woman of 2007

The UK's leading hosiery brand, Aristoc,  announced the launch of the Aristoc Ultra Woman campaign, a nationwide search to find and reward the nation's most inspirational and high achieving women.An Ultra Woman is defined as a woman of any age or occupation who has personally achieved outstanding success in one or more areas of her life. She is also someone who acts as an inspiration and positive role model to all those around her.

Samata Angel was a runner-up for the award and was selected by ateam of Ultra Woman Ambassadors, women who have excelled in their careers, inspired the nation and climbed to the top of their game. The ambassadors will be responsible for sifting through the thousands of expected entries and identifying the Aristoc Ultra Woman of 2007 included June Sarpong – Television Presenter and Creative Director BEN de LISI and Sital Punja.BREAK

Samata Angel attends Kulture to Couture 2007

    Designer Samata Angel attended Kulture to Couture 2007 at the V&A to show support for London's black British design talent. K2C is the newest addition to London’s dynamic fashion industry calendar, as a unique and high profile platform for acknowledging, showcasing and promoting black British designers as the originators and innovators of culturally significant and stylish trends.The event saw the likes of Naomi Campbell, Damon Dash and others in attendance at the show which recently joined forces with Catwalk the World.

Samata was interviewed by Colourful radio following her participation in a lively chat with Damon Dash (former CEO and co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Films, Dash Film). Samata talked about the dynamic question and answers session she had with the international media mogul and her plans for the future.

The Top Model of Colour competition is becoming increasingly significant as the discussions about racism within the fashion industry are held with race campaigners and politicians to try to tackle the issue. Designers, model agencies, race campaigners and politicians are among those who were invited to the Top Model of Colour event.

Ghanaian Designer Samata Angel chosen as inspirational role model

 British born Ghanaian designer Samata Angel of Samata's Muse has been appointed an official ambassador for the national Girls! Make Your Mark campaign. Girls! Make Your Mark is a campaign to encourage more young women to have ideas and make them happen – either through running their own business or social enterprise or by making an idea happen at work. The campaign is brought to life through the inspirational stories of young people, which is why Samata Angel has been chosen as she is already making her idea happen by launching her clothing line Samata's Muse and forging forward with her career in true style.

Alex Ritchie, Girls! Make Your Mark campaign manager said, "It is important that young women have realistic role models to whom they can look to for inspiration. Samata Angel will join a network of ambassadors who together will inspire more women in their teens and twenties to take the plunge and make their ideas happen."


The campaign aims to recruit 100 ambassadors across the UK, who together will use their stories to inspire others, through speaking engagements, networking, being profiled in media and getting involved in campaign initiatives.
